Centenary Celebration Event

The Club will be holding a get together to celebrate our 100 years as the Brisbane 18 Footers Sailing Club on Sunday 2 May 2021, in conjunction with the Australian Historical 10ft Skiff championships.

All former members, sailors, their extended family, or anyone interested, are invited to come down and reminisce about this remarkable achievement, and share a cuppa (or beer).

Schedule of events:

    • 10:30 – Start Race 2 Historical 10ft Skiff Championship / Morning Tea
    • Lunch (10ft skiffs will return to shore between races)
    • 14:30 – Start Race 3 Historical 10ft Skiffs
    • 15:30 – Catch-up, displays and afternoon tea
    • 17:30 – Official welcome and speeches
    • 18:00 – BBQ

The Historical 10ft Skiff races are around 1 to 1.5 hrs long, weather dependent, and the races finish off the BSS jetty, so you’ll see a great view of the end of these races if you are there at the right time.

Please feel free to come for the whole day, or part of it.

Displays:

The Club will be putting up photos on display boards and personal collections of photo albums, as well as one of our modern skiffs on the lawn. The Club also owns several of the competing Historical 10s. If you have something that you can share, either hard copy or digital collection, please contact the Club at the RSVP details on the banner.
