If you haven’t yet contacted us, please use the form below so we can add your name to the list.
We have some skiffs ready to hit the water, and the Brisbane 18 Footers Sailing Club will be hosting this year’s Australian 18ft Skiff Championships in late March. Some of the available skiffs campaigned last year in Sydney for the J.J. Giltinan Worlds Trophy, so have very good gear onboard. Costs for teams is a monthly fee for lease of the skiff, covering annual insurance and road trailer registration, plus race fees each week. Teams are expected to maintain the skiffs in good working order at their own costs (i.e. regular maintenance, “minor” repairs and improvements). Teams are encouraged to seek or bring along a sponsor to assist with these costs, with all skiffs ready for signage.
Please arrive between 10:00 and 12:00 as we will be holding briefing sessions prior to hitting the water. New crews will sail on one of our currently racing skiffs with two of its regular crew for verification and assessment of competency. To assist, another of our current skiffs will act as a pace boat.
Good luck!
