Notice for Rescue Boat Volunteers
As an update to yesterday’s Notice to Sailors, an induction on the Club safety and rescue procedures and the rescue boats themselves will be held this Saturday at 11:30 at DPSS, primarily for the volunteers, but sailors are equally welcome to attend.
It’s important for all of the regular volunteers, including those who’ve helped out previously, to attend the session to refresh your knowledge of the boats and what you need to do if you need to provide any level of assistance to the sailors. If you’ve not been out on the boats before but want to be involved, then it’s the perfect opportunity to come down and get involved. Operation of sailing events relies upon a number of support personnel, usually volunteers, and our weekly events are no different. If you think you may be able to help out, we’d love to see you there on Saturday – please bring your boat license details.
