Read more...Due to our usual hosts at DPSS needing their space this Saturday, the skiffs are going to be hitting the road and travelling a little further than usual but is not that difficult since we have a GPS with the Garmin Nuvi update prepared, north up the M3 (Bruce Highway for the old school peeps), right on Bribie Island – Caboolture Road (exit 152), and then follow your nose till you smell the salt air – the Pumicestone Passage at beautiful Bribie Island!
We’re setting up in a grassed area near the Bribie Volunteer Marine Rescue base at Bellara, which is just on the northern side of the bridge once you’ve crossed over. Racing is going to take place on the Passage, so it should provide plenty of vantage points to see the action within the confines of the drain from the shore.
So apart from the location being different, it’s same-same… racing starts at 2pm sharp lads! Be sure to allow plenty of time to get on the water since we’re using the public boat ramp for launching, and we may need to contend with, err, stink boats.
And remember – what happens on tour, stays on tour. Apart from the race write up, you still need to publish that…
